Resigning

Resigning from
Membership

Re-consider your thoughts if you happen to opt for membership’s resignation. You will not be able to use the designation initials after your name and will lose all membership rights and benefits. If your decision is final, you are requested to fill in the resignation form and send it to the Institute along with all the membership certificates issued throughout your membership and the MIA privilege card.

If your resignation is received on or after the 15 of January, you will remain liable for the full subscription fee applicable for that calendar year. No pro-rata refund shall be granted in respect of any such fee paid prior to the effective date of resignation.

Readmission

We are more than happy to know that you have considered to join again as a Member. Once again we would like to welcome you to the Institute.

  • If you were previously an AIA, you may apply for readmission as either an AIA or an MIA, depending on which eligibility criteria you meet.
  • If you were previously an MIA, readmission application must be made as an MIA (subject that the eligibility criteria are met). The continuous five-year period required to advance to FIA will restart from the date of readmission.
  • If you were previously an FIA, readmission application must be made as an MIA.

If you are interested in readmission, contact the Institute for guidance.

Readmission entails:

  • submit a new application form;
  • submit a readmission request to Council; and
  • settle the relevant fees.

Readmission is subject to Council’s approval.
