What is the MIA – ACCA Joint Scheme?
The MIA–ACCA Joint Scheme allows students in Malta to follow the ACCA qualification while being registered with the Malta Institute of Accountants. Upon meeting the required criteria, the pathway enables eligibility for membership with both organisations.

The Malta Institute of Accountants is ACCA’s sole joint scheme partner in Malta. Students taking ACCA exams in Malta must register with the Institute.

If you have 3 GCSES and 2 A’Levels (or equivalent) including Maths & English, you may start your ACCA Qualification. Learn more.
However, if you do not have the above requirements, your journey towards your career does not stop here. You can achieve your ACCA membership with the Foundation level qualifications – referred to as ‘Foundations in Accountancy’. This is the perfect solution for you if you are new to accountancy or if you are already working in finance but possess no qualifications. This will enable you to start at the right level to suit your ability.
You can achieve certificates and diplomas along the way before progressing onto the ACCA Qualification. So you’ll have proof of your hard work, plus it’s a great way to stay motivated during your studies and celebrate each milestone achieved.
