Background Information

The session discusses the fundamental notions of Maltese competition law, with reference to EU law. It provides an overview of the Maltese Competition Act and its main sources, namely Article 101 and Article 102 of the TFEU, anticompetitive agreements under Article 5, dominance and abuse under Article 9, and merger control in Malta.

Target Audience: Accountants and other professionals in managerial or decision-making roles.

Speaker: Dr Bernice Bianchi, senior legal officer at the Office for Competition within the MCCAA and visiting lecturer at the University of Malta.
