BACKGROUND INFORMATION

This session will focus on the incoming wave of AML/CFT regulation, and will specifically focus on the manner in which this is likely to impact the Maltese framework. Focus will be dedicated to the likely impact which these developments will have on Malta’s competitiveness as a jurisdiction, and the possibility of a re-balancing of the scales that will lead to an equal regulatory burden across all Member States.

    Gianluca Busuttil is a senior associate within the Deloitte Legal, specialising in regulatory compliance and developing areas of regulation in fields including artificial intelligence and digital services. Gianluca has followed the development of artificial intelligence regulation since the commencement of their discussion at an EU level and has experience in the practical perspective of AI regulation.
