Accreditation of CPE activities is a duty which has been delegated by the Accountancy Board to the Malta Institute of Accountants, as the approved accountancy body under Directive 1 issued in terms of the Accountancy Profession Act and the Accountancy Profession Regulations.
CPE Accreditation is governed by the CPE Accreditation Rules applicable to face-to-face courses.
In light of the Covid-19 outbreak, the majority of face-to-face courses are being replaced by online courses. In this regard, the Accountancy Board has approved a set of new rules applicable to online webinars. The Accountancy Board reserves the right to revise these rules. Such rules will continue to apply till the COVID-19 stipulated measures will cease to apply.
The Benefits of Accreditation are as follows:Earning CPE Recognition:- The course is assigned the number of accredited hours and competency in line with the MIA CPE Regulations, thus earning CPE recognition.
Official Accreditation Status:- The course can be described as accredited by the Malta Institute of Accountants (MIA). Prospective delegates will know that the course has been reviewed and approved by the MIA, ensuring it can be claimed as structured CPE.
Enhanced Promotional Material:- Promotional material can include wording that highlights the course’s accreditation status, enhancing its credibility and appeal.
Visibility on MIA Website:- The course details will be uploaded on the MIA’s website on the Friday before the event, providing visibility and accessibility to potential delegates: MIA Accredited Events
Proof of Attendance:- A proof of attendance template containing all the relevant details for CPE purposes will be provided to be distributed to delegates for CPE hours purposes.
