    Speakers' Profiles

    Kenneth Farrugia is the Chief Executive Officer of the MFSA and Chairman of the FIAU. At the MFSA, he leads Malta’s single financial services regulator, driving strategic initiatives to strengthen supervision, enforcement, governance, and innovation within the financial sector. A Certified Public Accountant and fellow of the Malta Institute of Accountants, he holds a Bachelor of Accountancy (Hons) and an MA in Business Ethics. Previously, Mr Farrugia served as Director of the FIAU, the Internal Audit & Investigations Department and other positions within the private sector implementing major reforms and representing Malta internationally.
    Paul Caruana is the Head of Due Diligence at the Malta Financial Services Authority. With over thirty years of experience across law enforcement and regulatory roles, he has led key initiatives related to criminal investigations, international cooperation, and cybersecurity. He is a criminologist and lectures the subject at the University of Malta.
