CPE Events Terms and Conditions
PARTICIPATION FEE

The participation fee for each event organised by the Malta Institute of Accountants (MIA) is available on the particular event's webpage of the MIA's website.

After the event, participants can download a soft copy of the presentation from the MIA's website by:
  • Logging into the system using their username and password,
  • Proceeding to the 'My Purchases' tab and click on the event title,
  • Downloading the presentation / notes from the Secure Files Section at the bottom of the page. Download is possible only if payment is settled.
CERTIFICATE OF ATTENDANCE

A certificate of attendance will be issued at the end of each session. This is to be kept for Continuing Professional Development (CPE) records purposes.

The MIA reserves the right to issue a certificate with reduced CPE hours if the attendee leaves the event venue before the end time of the event.

BOOKING & PAYMENT

To help ensure that the appropriate event materials and catering requirements are provided at the event, participants are asked to register by 17.00, one working day prior to the event.

Individual bookings are to be placed and paid online through the event's webpage on the MIA's website.

Group bookings and Retired MIA Members are requested to fill in the registration form and send it by post along with payment. The booking will be processed and confirmed once payment is received.

If it is believed that the cheque will not reach the MIA by the closing date, then the applicant is kindly requested to send the application form by e-mail together with a scanned copy of the cheque and present the respective cheque at registration stage, prior the commencement of the event.

PARKING FACILITIES

Participants of events held at Tower Training Centre, Lower Ground, Tower Business Centre, Tower Street, Swatar BKR 4013 may use the parking facilities available at Level -5 free of charge, unless otherwise specified in the event's webpage.

CANCELLATIONS

Cancellations taking place up to 48 hours prior the event, or the first session in case of multi-session event, will incur a cancellation fee of 50% unless a name of a replacement delegate is provided.

No refund / credit will be given to participants who notify the MIA after the event (including a multi-session event) commences unless the individual cancels his / her attendance due to health reasons. In this case, the MIA will be able to issue a credit note for the full amount given that the participant notifies the MIA by 8:00 of the event date. No refund will be given in case of no-shows and any unsettled payment will still be due.
