The system does not allow you to view the CPE activity of the current year unless the CPE activity of the previous year has been submitted. It allows you to enter your CPE records throughout the year. The table at the bottom of the page helps you to monitor your activity during the year. For more information refer to the help function within the system.
Below please find a step-by-step process on how to fill in and submit the CPE Return.
CPE activities can fall under any of these categories. Details can be inputted via drop-down menus and sub-menus from which you can choose your options:
MIA organised Events
Attended MIA organized events automatically show in your CPE return. All you need to do is input the certificate number
MIA Accredited Events
Choose MIA Accredited from the Menu
Pick up the event from the sub-menu. All the information will appear automatically. All you need to do is input the certificate number
Choose Other Events from the Menu and input the required details
Choose Qualifying Activities from the Menu
Pick up the appropriate activity from the sub-menu and input the required details
Activities that fall under this category include:
1. Service on technical committees and panels
These activities must satisfy the requirements in paragraph 7.3 of the MIA CPE Regulations.
2. Web-based learning activities
These activities must satisfy the requirements in paragraph 7.4 of the MIA CPE Regulations.
3. Lecture preparation and lecturing
These activities must satisfy the requirements in paragraph 7.5 of the MIA CPE Regulations.
4. Post-tertiary courses
These activities must satisfy the requirements in paragraph 7.6 of the MIA CPE Regulations.
5. Other activities
Other activities other than the above that meet the 3 criteria (relevance, measurability & verifiability)
Choose Unstructured from the Menu
Pick up the appropriate activity from the sub-menu and input the number of hours
The procedure to fill in and submit the Return is as follows:
1 - Select the required activity Type(s).
2 - Fill in the mandatory data as specified above.
3 - Press the Add button after each entry.
4 - Once the activity is added, press the Save button (If you do not press the save button, all information entered will be lost).
5 - Once all the information is saved press the Submit button. (Always check your entries prior pressing submit. Once you press submit you cannot amend any data).
Once you press the Save button, the last Entry will be moved to its Category. There are 5 different categories in the following order (from top to bottom):
The procedure (i) to amend any erroneously inputted information or (ii) to input the certificate number in case of MIA organised and MIA accredited events is as follows:
1 - Press the Notepad button and make the necessary changes.
2 - Re-press the Notepad button to Save the changes.
3 - Always click on the Save button to save the information inputted or updated.
4 - Press the Red button to delete an entry.
